Program Accreditation Self-Study Planning and Initiation Timeline

12-Week Strategic Planning Timeline

Week 1

Roles

Identify key leaders and stakeholders, assign responsibilities, clarify expectations, and establish meeting schedule for the self-study process.

Week 2

SWOT

Conduct leadership reflection and SWOT analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that may influence the self-study and accreditation readiness.

Week 3-4

Assessment

Compare current program practices with accreditation standards, identify overlaps and gaps, and develop a visual framework to guide priorities.

Week 8-9

Workshop

Use analyzed survey data to plan and develop an outline for a professional development module or workshop that addresses identified needs.

Week 6-7

Survey

Develop survey questions, distribute survey to nurse educators, collect responses, and analyze data to identify priority development needs.

Week 5

Ethics

Draft a code of ethics aligned with organizational values, academic integrity, leadership expectations, and professional nursing standards.

Week 10

Summary

Summarize major findings from the SWOT analysis, accreditation assessment, ethics planning, and survey data; create strategic goals and share them with stakeholders.

Week 11

Grant

Draft the grant proposal overview, identify funding priorities, align goals with improvement needs, and begin the application process.
